This week has been a very fulfilling one with so many members of the Northfield community contacting us to volunteer for Thursday’s Table!

We especially want to note the additional community members who have offered to serve as “regular” volunteers once each month. Thanks to those in our posting below and to the new “regulars”: Amy Weed, Jan Shoger, Marge Randolph, Laurie Vinge, Kris Peterson, Jennifer Severson and Joy Johnson-Grove.

 We’d like to extend our great thanks to a special group of local volunteers, each of whom has offered to serve as a regular volunteer at Thursday’s Table. Regular volunteers serve on the same Thursday each month, in the same role, either helping to prepare meals, serve and greet guests or to clean-up afterwards. These regulars are a great help to the volunteers who are new to Thursday’s Table as they can show them around and make them feel comfortable. Our guests will also appreciate seeing some familar faces!

So, thanks go to Carolyn Joyce, Bobbie Peterson, Cindy Kreis, Diane Boyum , James Weidner,  Stephanie DuFour-Carlson and Sandra Varley for making this extra commitment!

Thanks to Liz Berry and her fellow congregations at All Saints Episcopal Church in Northfield for signing up to volunteer to prepare and serve meals, greet our guests and clean-up for two Thursday’s in the coming year.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Emmaus Baptist Church. They have both offered to organize volunteer teams from their congregations for multiple weeks in May and June!!

 We still have plenty of room for individual volunteers during the coming weeks as well as opportunities for groups (church, neighborhood, school, book club, service, etc) who would like to volunteer to serve on one or more weeks.

We’re glad to have the news about Thursday’s Table in the community and would like to recognize the first group to step forward and offer to prepare, serve and clean-up meals during one week of the Thursday’s Table offering.
